Twin chemistry built across two racket sports
Kawamoto and her identical twin sister Jade grew up on Maui before their family moved to Indiana. Jackie played Division I tennis at the University of Dayton, earning Atlantic 10 recognition and leading the Flyers with an 18-4 singles record as a freshman.
Their father introduced the twins to pickleball in 2019. Jackie turned professional in 2021, and the sisters’ right-handed and left-handed combination became one of their defining doubles advantages.
Why are Jackie and Jade Kawamoto such a distinctive doubles team?
The identical twins developed together in tennis and pickleball. Jackie’s right-handed game and Jade’s left-handed game let them protect the middle with their forehands in preferred formations.
