A family discovery became her own career
Johnson's route into professional pickleball began as a family story. She first learned the game in Pittsburg, Kansas, before the family moved to Florida to support older brother JW Johnson's tennis development. Pickleball helped the Johnsons build a community in their new home and soon became Jorja's own competitive path.
She did not arrive with JW's extensive tennis background. Instead, Jorja developed directly through pickleball, turning professional in 2020 and establishing herself in women's and mixed doubles while still in her teens.
